Marcos de la Fuente (Madrid, 1994) is a cultural manager. He started his training in his hometown, as a Senior Technician in Audiovisual and Live Performance Production, as well as in Audiovisual Production and Scenic Projects. He also holds a degree in Cultural Management from the University of Cordoba.
His career in the audiovisual and stage sector includes his time in the production department of the series “El Ministerio del Tiempo” (TVE, 2017) as well as in the theater companies Au Coeur du Perche (Normandy) and Teatro Sonámbulo (Madrid), as he participated in outstanding competitions such as the Festival Ellas Crean 2016 and the Festival SURGEMADRID 2016.
In the field of cultural management, he has been part of institutions such as Casa Árabe and the Cervantes Institute of Krakow, entities for which he has carried out the organization and management of public program cultural projects, specializing in curatorial projects and management of artistic residencies. Within this context, he has curated the exhibition projects “Exhibition of Moroccan Art. Córdoba, 1946” (2023), ‘AZAHAR’ (2023) and ‘Restrospective: a decade of reunion with the Arab world’ (2021). In addition, he has assisted the curatorship of more than ten exhibitions, including “Memories in motion. Contemporary art from Mauritania” (2022), ‘Fables and evanescent flags’ (2022), ‘Jiwar, creative neighborhoods in the city’ (2021), ‘Mario Muchnik, the photographer’ (2018) and ”Karolina Galla: Peru” (2018), with curators and entities such as PHotoEspaña, Oliva María Rubio, Pedro Azara, the JISER collective or the Kraków Photo Fringe, among others. In 2021, he was a candidate for the Special Audience Award for the best exhibition project at the EXPONE Awards (AMMA, Association of Museologists and Museographers of Andalusia).
In addition, he has been involved in various inter-institutional projects focused on cultural mediation, such as “Un océano sin orilla” (2022, in collaboration with TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary), initiatives bringing art to new audiences (together with the Fundación Gala, the Fundación Don Bosco and the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Córdoba) and projects in the field of public diplomacy (in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Fulbright Program and the Fundación Consejo España Perú).
Currently, he is part of the Department of Exhibitions and Artistic Residencies at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, where he has carried out the exhibition projects “Asturian Art in Residence 2023”, “Rodrigo Cuevas. La gracia de la agitación folklórica”, ”Millennials. The multimedia art of Generation Y”, ”NVSBLS. Invisible women in art history”, ”Impossible rainbow. An exercise in celestial landscaping” and ”Digital Machines. Technology, Industry, Society”.
