Katarzyna Szymielewicz

Katarzyna Szymielewicz (Poland, 1981) is a lawyer specializing in human rights and technology. A graduate in Law from the University of Warsaw and in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, she is a member of the Polish Digitalization Council. She is co-founder and president of the Panoptykon Foundation, a Polish NGO that advocates for human rights in the context of contemporary forms of surveillance.

Katarzyna is vice president of European Digital Rights, a coalition of 33 organizations whose goal is the defense of privacy and civil rights. She is also a board member of the Tactical Technology Collective and Amnesty International (Poland).
