John Paul Bichard is an artist who has been experimenting with installations, media and digital games since the early 1990s. Bichard’s works explore the boundaries between ‘protected real space’ – such as the police evidence space – or the ‘protected European home’ – and the ‘digital made real’, where the space of games is re-constructed as a real environment. He has worked on numerous high-profile research projects, and between 1995 and 2001 he worked as a videogame editor for Mute magazine. He currently works as creative director on numerous high-profile video game research projects. He has also co-directed Art Productions at the Interactive Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
