He was born in Oviedo in 1968. He lives in Avilés (Asturias)
Jaime Rodríguez is a trandisciplinary artist, coordinator and curator of different exhibitions in public and private institutions. He as a Master of “Current Art, analysis and management” at the Universidad de Barcelona, a Diploma in Art and Design, by the Escuela de Arte de Oviedo of Oviedo; a BA in Geography and History and a PhD in Art History from the Universidad de Oviedo. A Postdoctoral fellowship of the Canon Foundation awarded by the MUA of Alicante; and “Espacios digitales y nuevas tecnologías aplicadas al arte” at 多摩美術大学 Tama Art University, Tokio, Japón.
With a long career since 1993, he has realized numerous solo exhibitions, hybrid collective, receiving numerous awards, scholarships and grants for artistic creation. His work is in museums, institutions and private collections. He has been busy promoting and disseminating contemporary art in Asturias, working as a freelance curator and coordinator in different artistic events, collaborating with other curators, creative or entities, as well as developing an information campaign participating in different conferences, meetings and other educational spaces as pedagogical collective “Taller 3″ (2003- 2008) and the ” Asociación Artística MARBAS ” at the Centro Cultural de La Fresneda, Siero chaired since its foundation. He currently combines his artistic work with his work as a curator and coordinator in TEXU Gallery in Oviedo.
