Architecture: The future under construction

Frank O. Gehry and Rafael Moneo will take part in this debate organised by the Fundación Príncipe de Asturias on the occasion of the award ceremony of its prizes

23 October 2014

The American architect Frank O. Gehry, awarded with the Príncipe de Asturias Prize for Arts 2014, and Rafael Moneo, who received this same award in 2012, will be discussing Architecture: The future under construction in an event organised by the Fundación Príncipe de Asturias on the occasion of the award ceremony. The debate, with free access until full capacity is reached, will be moderated by Benedetta Tagliabue, architect and member of the Jury of the Príncipe de Asturias Prize for Arts, and is supported by ThyssenKrupp.

Gehry, whose buildings are distinguished by a virtuous interplay of complex shapes, the use of unusual materials, such as titanium, and by its technological innovation that has influenced other art practices, as recognised by the jury that awards the Príncipe de Asturias Prize for Arts this year, will discuss his vision on architecture with Rafael Moneo, “a Spanish architect of universal dimension, whose work enriches the urban spaces with a calm and clean architecture”, as indicated in the minutes of the jury that awarded him this same prize two years ago.

Free entry until full capacity is reached (200 seats)
