In this vermouth session we will be able to enjoy the live experience of the film-performance ‘Primer Motor’, an expanded cinema project by Guillermo Braga, Santiago Fernández and Samuel Fonseca.
Through the projection of sonic images and experimentation with spectral sounds, the artists investigate iconographic and aesthetic motifs in an abstract way using analogue projectors and DIY devices. Through hypnotic sequences and sounds of obsessive repetition, they create a visual and sonic atmosphere that escapes any preconceived notion of what a soundtrack should be like.
The performance will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition Asturian Art in Residence 2023 by the exhibition curator, Cristina Ramos, and the participating artists.
Asturian Art in Residence 2023 shows the projects of part of the CRA programme Call for Artistic Residencies 2023, which welcomed more than 20 artists from Asturias or resident in Asturias. The works share an interest in offering a critical look at the present, in investigating contemporary issues such as the conservation of industrial and material heritage, the symbiosis between the natural and the manufactured, migrant identities and the need to generate fantastic imaginaries to preserve memory and myths.
