L.E.V. FESTIVAL

Until 5 May 2024

The evening programme of the L.E.V. Festival (Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual) on Saturday, May 4th in LABoral Centro de Arte’s Nave will kick off with a performance by Evian Christ, English musician, producer and music programmer. He will present live his album Revanchist (Warp 2023), which explores the latent potential of the genre to evoke, beyond euphoria, the fullest feeling of the sublime.

The night will continue with French artist Jacques, offering a performance that is both noisy and danceable, where sound and image interact live. Videochose is the title of his new show, where an amalgam of fragments of films, documentaries, YouTube videos and even videos of his daily life are cut, looped and set to music until they become musical instruments, accompanied by his usual objects.

LCY, a Bristol-born visual artist and DJ from London, will make his L.E.V. Festival debut with the premiere of his Live av. He is known for his dark, deconstructed sets, which pay deep homage to UK club music. One of the main focuses of his work is the construction of new worlds and narratives, writing stories and creating art to give body to his science fiction and fantasy tales, which have played on such prestigious stages as the Royal Opera House in London and Primavera Sound.

The programme will continue with Puce Mary, the stage name of Danish Frederikke Hoffmeier. With a long career in the field of experimental electronic music, she is known for her intense live performances, which range from passionate interpretations of cinematic composition to the unleashed fury of harsh noise.

Finally, we will have with us the collaboration of Berlin-based artist and music producer Sin Maldita and French multimedia artist Lei, who present the audiovisual project Aelcrush, where they address escapism and emotional exhaustion, proposing a balance between the chaos of an audiovisual club and radiant beauty. A devastating and emotionally evocative proposal that intertwines hybrid club music with experimental pop, generating an experiential maelstrom of sound worlds live.
