Guided tour of LABoral Centro de Arte – 16 May at 12 h
–
On 16 May 2026, museums around the world will celebrate International Museum Day under the theme ‘Museums uniting a divided world’. Organised by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), this year’s event focuses on the role of museums as spaces for encounter, dialogue and the building of mutual understanding: places that bridge cultural, social and geopolitical divides, promoting inclusion, understanding and peace.
In this context, LABoral Centro de Arte is joining in this celebration with a special guided tour led by the director, Semíramis González, on the 18th at 12 h, as part of the new programme of free guided tours that the Centre has launched this year. During the tour, the public will have the opportunity to explore different spaces, such as the artists’ studios, the fabLAB digital fabrication laboratory and the current exhibitions.
Furthermore, the tour of the exhibition “De rerum natura. On the Nature of Things” will feature the participation of La Rectoral, the exhibition’s curators.

As part of the programme, LABoral is also hosting the performance ‘Varada’ by the artist Teresa Hernández, which marks the conclusion of her artist residency at LABoral as part of the *coastARTS research project. In this performance, the transdisciplinary artist shares and presents the images, materials and concepts she has encountered and collected along the coast and through chance readings. The practice of wandering and conversation have been the main methodologies in her artistic research. Everything found is processed from and through a mature body in motion, open to being altered, with a persistent question: could we change the scale, to downsize?
Both activities are free of charge, but prior registration is required via email at info@laboralcentrodearte.org or by telephone on 985 185 577.

*CoastARTS is an initiative funded by the European Union’s CHANSE-HERA consortium and the Spanish National Research Council, bringing together academic and cultural institutions from various European countries to explore, through the performing arts, the convergence of ecological and cultural perspectives on crises in coastal areas.
