In order to contribute to the new challenges of interdisciplinary digital education, new formats, methodologies and concepts related to the critical and creative use of artificial intelligence, big data and social networks will be introduced. Likewise, it will be shown how to combine art, science and technology in the same project. This brings together theory and practice to raise awareness among young people in the use of data to create their own visual and sound portrait based on the information that social networks and digital devices have about them.
The inaugural conference will be held on Monday, November 23 between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. in person (upon registration) and at virtual.laboralcentrodearte.org. The remaining time is limited to the participation of the five participating educational centers.
Conclusions and resultsof the collaboration between the educational centers and LABoral Centro de Arte will be presented publicly at the end of April.
Beatriz RemeseiroShe is a Computer Engineer (2008) and a Doctor in Computer Science (2014) from the Universidade da Coruña, with mention of an international doctorate. His doctoral thesis has received the “Second Prize for Doctoral Thesis 2014” awarded by the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (AEPIA), and the “Gradiant Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis applied to the ICT sector 2016” awarded by the Official College and the Association of Telecommunications Engineers of Galicia (COETG-AETG). After two postdoctoral stays from 2015 to 2017, at the INESC TEC-Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (Portugal) and at the University of Barcelona, she is currently a Doctoral Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oviedo . She is co-author of 10 book chapters, and more than 50 research articles published in international journals and conferences. She has co-organized several special sessions at different international conferences, and has been part of scientific and program committees. She is currently Associate Editor of The Visual Computer Journal (Springer). Her main research areas include computer vision and machine learning, with applications to different real problems in areas such as medicine or industry. Her commitment to promoting scientific-technological vocations among girls and adolescents has led her to give scientific dissemination talks in educational centers, and to promote the launch of the Asturias node of the Inspira STEAM project, which she currently coordinates.
Clara Boj and Diego DíazThey have been working together since 2000. Their projects involve the notion of public space transformed by new digital technologies, the hybrid city.
His main works propose new devices (both conceptual and technological) that reformulate the perception and experience of the urban environment. In this sense, they transfer their proposals directly to the street to provoke a meeting between physical places, digital spaces and people. Many of his projects explore non-linear storytelling using geolocation devices and other locative media resources to create narratives that combine layers of physical and digital information. Recently, they are working with machine learning techniques to analyze how computers can understand and predict our future.
His projects and works have been exhibited in festivals, museums and art centers with internationally recognized prestige such as: Singarpore Art Museum (Singapore), Kiasma Museum (Helsinki), Daejeon Museum of Art (South Korea), Kumu Art Museum (Tallinn) , ZKM (Karlsruhe), Ars Electroncia (Linz), Trasmediale (Berlin), File (Rio de Janeiro), ISEA (San José, California), Big Day Out (traveling to Australia), Amber (Istanbul), Exit Festival (traveling by France) and national ones such as: La Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial (Gijón), La Casa Encendida (Madrid), Ars Santa Mónica (Barcelona), Els Baluard (Palma de Mallorca), Bolit La Rambla (Girona), Sonar ( Barcelona) among others.
