‘Dancing the Exhibition’ is a new programme developed by LABoral Centro de Arte that invites participants to discover exhibitions from the perspective of dance. Through improvisation and movement, it offers a space for exchange where participants can share reflections and explore the exhibition’s content in a creative, dynamic and interdisciplinary way.
The first session of this series will take place on 21 April and is aimed at students from the Asturias Higher School of Dramatic Art and Professional Dance (ESAD), as part of the collaboration between the two institutions and based on the course ‘Dance – Contact Improvisation’.
On this occasion, the students will participate in the exhibition La Sociedad Automática as performers within the exhibition space itself. The intervention takes as its starting point some of the concepts present in the exhibition—such as automatism or addiction—which are reinterpreted through the language of the body and improvisation.
During the performance, every ten minutes the participants will change their arrangement within the space, forming new pairs and groups depending on the route and the position they occupy in the room. The performance will culminate in a collective action centred on the piece that gives the exhibition its name.

With this initiative, LABoral seeks to open up new spaces for dialogue between cultural and educational institutions, fostering experimentation, shared learning and contemporary creation through direct experience.
