Concert: Gateshead

18 December 2021

Presentation of the sound project by Tricia Fernández and Raúl Tejón in the framework of the Mercadillo Navidad 2021.

We live among noises, lights, textures and engines.

And in order not to drive us crazy, our brain selects, from what it receives through the senses, what is useful and what is irrelevant for its survival in a given environment.

But what happens when the mesh of the strainer has a different braiding?

This piece is a union between the way of creating of a neurotypical brain and that of an autistic one, giving the same importance to both visions. In this complexity we will see that the sounds emitted by a child with non-verbal ASD are related in tone or tempo to some of the things that sound in their space and time and that a non-neurodivergent brain does not perceive due to its lesser capacity for analysis and detail.
