Black Mirror Festival was born in October 2013 with the intention of amplifying the new audiovisual currents and works as a showcase for the new musical sensibilities that are being developed in different parts of the planet and, in particular, those generated in Asturias.
Its essence is translated into a free festival that allows the visualisation of new expressive forms, both visual and sonorous, and their live performance. Projects where avant-garde stage proposals are fused with experimental audio live performances; interventions of space; audiovisual manifestations supported by new technologies…
The live performance allows the fusion of the work of visual and sound artists in all its dimensions, which complement each other and establish a stimulating dialogue. The festival’s programme, which includes national and local artists, is the ideal forum for fostering new collaborations and exchanging experiences on both a personal and artistic level that are enriching for all.
After a first edition in the church of Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura, the Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial hosts and produces this new edition of the Black Mirror Festival, with a line-up formed by Sara Galán, Elle Belga and Territoire. In this way, the festival is included in the annual programme of concert cycles promoted by the Centro de Arte’s LABoratorio de Sonido.
Parallel to Black Mirror, a cycle called Trashumancias will be developed, which aims to export the festival model to other centres of creation outside Asturias, thus creating a new artistic-contemporary flow between the different regions.
