Art created with Artificial Intelligence

Future and Technology Conference, in collaboration with the Municipal Foundation for Culture, Education and Popular University – Gijón/Xixón City Council

6 November 2025

Location: LABoral Studio

Time: 7 p.m.

Generative artificial intelligence (AI GEN) has established itself as a disruptive tool for digital creation thanks to software such as ChatGPT, Midjourney and Dall-e.

This activity is part of the Future Technology 2025 Conference promoted by the Municipal Foundation for Culture, Education and Popular University – Gijón/Xixón City Council, and through practical cases, we will discover how AI is transforming the artistic landscape, opening up new possibilities for creation and expanding the limits of the imagination.

Programme:

  1. DISRUPTION, BY MARINA NÚÑEZ

As always when such powerful technology emerges, generative AIs, specifically those that produce images and videos, generate mistrust and passion, contempt and hope. In the world of contemporary art, where the scope of this emergence, or rather disruption, is not yet clearly perceived, changes, major changes, will be inevitable.

Marina Núñez is an artist and lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Vigo. Her work, developed through painting, digital imaging, video and installations, addresses hybrid identities, questioning notions of gender, body and diversity. She has exhibited in museums such as MUSAC and Es Baluard, and her work forms part of collections such as those of the La Caixa Foundation, the Botín Foundation and the Reina Sofía Museum.

  1. PLANETARY AIs, BY SOLIMÁN LÓPEZ

Description: A journey of both theoretical and practical exploration into how artificial intelligence can contribute to preserving and enhancing ancestral knowledge, supporting the creation of new ecosystems and fostering the development of art inspired by the societies of the future. To this end, he will demonstrate these applications in a practical way in works such as Manifesto Terricola, Capside and Aeolia.

Solimán López is an artist and researcher in art, science and biotechnology. With a degree in Art History and a master’s degree in Art and Visual Communication, he combines theory and technological experimentation. His work explores DNA and artificial intelligence from a critical perspective, using resources such as 3D, video, immersive installations and sound art. He has exhibited in more than thirty countries and in museums such as the Hermitage, the Pompidou and the ZKM.
