Algorithmic democracy

2 October 2021

The relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and political participation, which seemed distant, is now a reality. In recent years we have seen how these technologies have managed to cause changes in the electoral results of several countries and manipulate the perception we have of one political option or another.

AI, capable of controlling and analyzing countless data to know our preferences, has acquired an alarming level of influence in democratic decisions, becoming an indispensable tool for any candidate aspiring to govern.

But, can Artificial Intelligence help us to think about how and not about who? Is it possible to design other spaces for democratic participation and sovereignty in a society crossed by technology?

Throug these activities we will analyze, together with artists, philosophers, journalists and activists, the role of artificial intelligence in the political sphere and the possibilities and challenges that this technology poses.
