2nd working session Trastienda

25th to 27th april 2012

LABoral is hosting the second working session of the project Trastienda, focused on the objects that will be produced with digital fabrication tecniques, one of the main working strategies for LABoral in 2012.

The participants will also explore the ways to document the results of this research project through a web platform that will be inserted into the LABoral’s site.

Trastienda is a new concept of a shop-workshop which conceives of design practice and the production of objects as an open and ongoing research process. The collection of objects produced by La trastienda has been designed to be the results from collaborative work by different multidisciplinary work groups, made up of designers, artists and developers who explore and reflect on the potential of online objects.

The project is curated by El Último Grito and Víctor Viña as leading designer. Also participating Chris Sugrue, Clara Boj and Diego Díaz, from lalalab, Jacobo Alonso de Lucas, Jordi Canudas and David pello. Furthermore, designer Susana tesconni, who is investigating on the development of pedagogical material in digital fabrication field, will joing the group.

This initiative is supported by the collaboration of La Casa Encendida –an educational, promotional and dissemination centre of contemporary culture, dependent on Caja Madrid Social Work- and the support of the Ministry of Culture.
