About the Archive
Since its inception, the Archive of Asturian Artists has sought to be a tool for mapping Asturian culture, housing material from nearly 200 artists active from 1950 to the present day.
LABoral now seeks to promote the Archive of Asturian Artists in particular with a new physical space dedicated to the Archive, designed to facilitate research and analysis of the material, as well as the continuous expansion of the archive, including artists, updating materials and strengthening its information registry.
Equipment
Equipped with specific furniture, this space aims to become a place of consultation and work for researchers, students and professionals. Access will be possible upon request, ensuring a comfortable and specialised environment.
The Archive combines material donated by artists and institutions —catalogues, magazines, brochures, invitations, press clippings and audiovisual material— and digital access available through two computers inside the room. Each artist has detailed information available for consultation. Beyond accumulating documentation, LABoral promotes the activation of the Archive through archiving, communication and exhibition policies. This new space and the promotion of the Archive seek to encourage researchers and curators to make regular use of these materials to enrich the artistic programme.
The opening will take place on 20 February at 7.30 pm.
