LABoral Centro de Arte invites you to participate in the workshop ‘The folds of the tongue’, taught by artist Sara García, on 19 and 20 February from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
This activity is based on the exhibition “Smells like Kin”, currently on display at LABoral, and proposes a reflection on the bonds that are created through the act of eating: with whom we share the table, how we embrace difference, and what communities are created through food. These communities range from the microorganisms in the soil that make plant growth possible to the bacteria that inhabit our own bodies.
Throughout the workshop, we will rethink the act of eating as a practice with implications that go far beyond nutrition. We will approach it from artistic, eco-political and multi-species perspectives. We will share fermented foods and learn how to make others collectively.
Once the workshop is over, you can take home a sample made during the activity. The price is €10 and includes all the necessary materials.
