Project in residence
Sextaferia Digital is a collective initiative that seeks to transfer traditional Asturian values to the current digital world. Inspired by the “sextasferias” -community work days in which neighbors organized themselves to clean roads, squares and public spaces for the common benefit-, it proposes the creation of an open digital design system of the Principality of Asturias, under free license, that unifies standards, methodologies and visual resources to ensure accessible, coherent and people-centered digital public services.
The proposal merges two worlds: traditional knowledge and the current technological environment, recognizing the Asturian identity as a driver of innovation. It is proposed as a starting point to create a multidisciplinary professional structure, capable of accompanying the public administration and the business community in the continuous improvement of their digital products and services.
From active listening and citizen participation, Sextaferia Digital promotes collective innovation. Through training and dissemination actions, it seeks to bring digital design closer to society as a whole, fostering a culture of collaboration, active listening, constant and iterative improvement.
By relying on open technologies and shared tools, the project promotes a sustainable, transparent development model with real impact.
Because the roads that once connected villages are now also digital, keeping the roads accessible and cared for is a collective responsibility.
