Reyes Calleja studied Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca and was awarded a scholarship to study painting at the Kunsthochshule in East Berlin. She has held painting exhibitions in the Casa Municipal de Cultura in Avilés, in the municipal centre of El Coto in Gijón and in the Alvargonzalez Foundation in Gijón. She has taught plastic arts at the Universidad Laboral, Gijón; at the Escuela de Arte, Oviedo; at the schools Patronato San José and San Vicente de Paul, Gijón; at the Instituto José María Suárez, Degaña; and at the school Virgen de la Luz, Avilés.
