Paolo Cirio is researching into media, communication, politics and cultural anthropology, as an environment that influences the perception of reality. He has studied cinema, theatre, electronics, telecommunication, philosophy, 
design and visual communications. He graduated in 2005 in Drama, Art and Music Studies at the University of Turin. He was part of [epidemiC] collective and has collaborated with many other pivotal figures of net-art and street-art scene. In the 2002, the Department of National Defense of both the USA and Canada has investigated him for organizing an anti-war net-strike. Few years after he hacked Google.com (GWEI project with Alessandro Ludovico and ubermorgen.com) and Amazon.com (Amazon-Noir project with Alessandro Ludovico and ubermorgen.com) to raise awareness about the freedom of information in the corporate dot-com giants era. In 
the meanwhile he organized street-art happening and stole the identity of a Russian spy (The Big Plot project) to create a new form of narrative fiction. In the 2009 he won the European Media Artists in Residence Exchange, and in the 2008 the second prize at the Transmediale Festival in Berlin. He displayed his works at National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens; Courtauld Institute, London; HMKV, Dortmund; MOCA, Tapei; NTT ICC, Tokyo; Ars Electronica, Linz; among others.
