Nonny de la Peña

Nonny de la Peña is a transmedial creator whose output moves across the fields of documentary and machinima filmmaking, journalism and writing. Her work includes two Second Life installations: Gone Gitmo, a virtual representation of the Guantánamo Bay prison; and the award-winning Wallsickness. A former Newsweek correspondent, Nonny de la Peña has also contributed to The New York Times, Premiere Magazine, Texas Monthly and Time Magazine, among other publications. She is the author of multiple episodes of television fiction and her feature-length documentaries have been seen around the world. A graduate of Harvard University and a master’s degree from the Annenberg Online Communities Program at the University of Southern California, Nonny de la Peña is currently researching the possibility of producing narrative nonfiction and journalistic pieces using immersive first-person experiences in 3D environments.
