Mónica Rikić 

Electronic artist. National Prize of Culture of Catalonia 2021. Bachelor of Fine Arts (UB). Master in Digital Arts (UPF). Master in Philosophy (UOC). PhD student Network and Information Technologies (UOC). 

Focuses her practice on creative code and electronics, combining them with non-digital objects to create interactive projects and robotic installations. Her conceptual interest focuses on critical thinking around alternative technologies, handmade electronics and open hardware. 

She has participated in international festivals such as Ars Electronica in Linz, Creative Tech Week in New York, Robotronica in Australia or FILE in Brazil, among others, and has exhibited at local institutions such as the CCCB, Arts Santa Monica, CaixaForum or Disseny Hub. She has been awarded with a Leonardo grant from the BBVA Foundation, in the Japan Media Arts Festival, AMAZE Berlin or Margaret Guthman Musical Instrument Competition 

(Atlanta). She has participated in residencies in numerous international programs. Her pieces are part of collections such as .NewArt {foundation;} or the DKV Collection. 

During the year 2024, she is artist-in-residence in two European S+T+ARTS programs, one in Barcelona (In the City) with Hacte and IRI UPC-CSIC, and another in Finland (GRIN) at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences (OAMK).
