Architect and researcher

After graduating from the School of Architecture of the University of A Coruña (ETSAC) in 2008 (including an Erasmus scholarship, IUAV, University of Venice, Italy in 2005-06), he studied a Master in Biodigital Architecture, ESARQ, UIC, Barcelona in 2009, developing the final thesis: “Emerging biodigital architecture”. In 2017 she presented her doctoral thesis “Living architectural envelopes that interact with their environment. Naturalizing design”, at the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Oviedo, obtaining Cum Laude and with International Mention from University College London (UCL), London.

Between 2013 and 2020 she was part of the University of Oviedo, as a researcher in the GICONSIME group and as a manager in the MediaLab Chair, developing various research projects on the application of biomimicry to architecture and engineering through new technologies. of digital manufacturing. She currently combines her work as an architect and designer at Volumínica Studio, founded in 2017, with the launch of the Biomimetic Laboratory in the Redes Natural Park, both initiatives together with the designer Manuel Persa.

Throughout thirteen years of experience, as an architect and researcher (in the private and public sphere), she has developed different architectural projects and research projects, and has gathered more than 400 hours of teaching, publications, presentations and conferences at international conferences. . In addition, she has been invited as a reviewer of scientific articles and as a jury at various events, and her work has been part of different exhibitions, has received awards and has appeared in numerous media outlets.
