Juan Sevilla Álvarez

PhD, Professor and researcher

PhD in Geography, Diploma of Advanced Studies in Territorial Analysis and Degree in Geography and History (Geography Section) from the University of Oviedo.

He is Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Oviedo and Editor of Ería Revista Cuatrimestral de Geografía. He teaches in the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, in the Faculty of Commerce, Tourism and Social Sciences Jovellanos and in the Polytechnic School of Mieres.

He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire Société Environnement Territoire UMR 5603 CNRS-UPPA (France) and Associate Professor at the Universities of Salamanca, León and Valladolid.

He is a member of the Accredited Research Group ARPE and of the Territory Observatory of the University of Oviedo. His research interests include landscape dynamics and heritage processes; AR and VR applications in Geography; tourism destination planning; agri-food in territorial development; urban space and childhood.
