Echoes

In the history of music there have been thousands of mythical moments that push Jorge Granda as a composer to continue wanting to record albums and produce soundtracks. Any of the records by Ash Ra Tempel, Manuel Göttsching, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Klaus Schulze or any other artist linked to the so-called Berlin school of electronic music are inspiring for him, and this is something he made clear in his programme “Cinematic Landscapes”, whose first season took place during the first half of 2022 and where he brought together some records and diverse influences while playing his own music in the context of the presentation of what was his tenth solo album “Visual music”.

These concerns were also reflected in different monographs, such as the tribute to Vangelis performed live on NC248Radio the month of his death, where he made an extensive analysis of the work of what for many has been the best composer of electronic music that history has ever produced. Today, Jorge Granda, as a composer, musician, music producer and multi-instrumentalist dedicated professionally to music for more than a decade, is trying to continue writing his own history, and is considering combining influences and styles, placing in his discography a new work that brings a series of new elements and revises others from the past. This is the origin of the project “‘Echoes”‘, from the desire to make a great record that is born from what should simply be considered as research and cultural development.
