EVOL is a computer music cell created in 1996 by Roc Jiménez de Cisneros, musician and composer living in Barcelona. EVOL’s work has been published on internationally famous record labels such as Mego, Fals.ch, Lucky Kitchen, Entr’acte, Antifrost, Scarcelight or Diskono among others. In 2003, EVOL launched a series of electroacoustic compositions titled Punani, with which it delves into some of the constants of its work: algorithmic composition, noise, different digital synthesis techniques, spectro-morphology and the musical application of fractal geometry and other mathematical phenomena. At the same time, since 1997 Anna Ramos and Roc Jiménez de Cisneros have been responsible for ALKU, a record label and artistic collective that has published works by leading sound artists such as Edwin van der Heide, Yasunao Tone, JLIAT, Wobbly, Kotra, Team Doyobi or Peter Rehberg among others. Anna and Roc have also produced installations and digital art works in galleries and museums in several countries.
