Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI) celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2011. A New York-based non-profit organization and leader in the field of video art, EAI was founded in 1971 to promote the creation, exhibition, distribution, dissemination and preservation of video art and digital creation. EAI’s core programme focuses on the distribution and curation of a large collection of over 3,500 works of media art, spanning from the mid-1960s to the present, ranging from influential works by pioneers of this art form to new digital pieces created by emerging talents. EAI’s activities include a video curation programme, access to viewing, educational services, a wide range of online materials and public programmes, including artist talks, exhibitions and panel discussions. The online catalogue is a comprehensive resource for information about the artists and works in the EAI’s collection, including extensive digital content and materials relating to the exhibition, collecting and conservation of media art.
