“Hello lonely, hold the nation” and “We make hits, not the public” are the first two works in a trilogy of ep’s that would see the light of day between 2010 and 2011 designed to perfectly define the new sound of Downliners Sekt. An enigmatic project that debuted in 2005 with “Statement of Purpose” and since then has been evolving a sound that was cemented on the developments of post-rock to grow between the influence of IDM, ambient and the most spectral dubstep.
In Downliners Sekt the beats do not flow cleanly nor the rhythms are easy, the structures are enhanced in complex mixtures, between atmospheres indebted to Burial, abrupt glitches and liquid voices, to give rise to a tangle of highly melancholic and emotional sound that has placed them under the gaze of a good part of the international circuit.
