Celia Viada

Filmmaker and visual anthropologist

Celia Viada Caso is a filmmaker and visual anthropologist.

Her works oscillate between non-fiction and experimental film, video installation, music video and live practice. In them she explores the recovery and re-signification of images to connect memory, body and territory.

She holds a degree in Anthropology and Audiovisual Communication from Goldsmiths University of London and has completed a Masters in Creative Documentary Filmmaking at the UPF in Barcelona. Her first feature film “La Calle del Agua” (2020) won 7 awards at its premiere at the Xixón International Film Festival, including the FIPRESCI Award for Best Director in the Tierres en Trance section and the Audience Award. He is currently developing his second film “Un verano sin pájaros”, winner of the Principality of Asturias New Directors Award (2021).
