Carmen Fernandez Gonzalez

Artist and architect

Artist and architect (ETSAC2011) interested in the multitude of possibilities of interrelation between both disciplines, seeking new ways of expression, as well as in urban intervention where the city is revitalized. In parallel to architecture, I have trained in different artistic disciplines such as engraving and ceramics, recently receiving the Roberto Parga 2022 award at the 10th National Creative Ceramics Fair. In 2021, thanks to the artistic production scholarship in Graphic Arts (Factoría Cultural de Avilés), I have been able to develop the “Reflejos” project where, through the printing technique, large-format compositions have been created that will be installed on the street. of Avilés in order to beautify it and bring the work closer to the population. In 2012, in collaboration with the Luciérnagas en el Jardín collective, the urban intervention “Where Yesterday at Five” was selected within the Autumn of Recycling contest (Gijón City Council and the LABoral center), where waste materials were used to decorate the city. During my career as an architect I have carried out different types of projects, mainly linked to urban planning in countries such as Holland, Equatorial Guinea and Santo Tomé.
