Axel Stockburger is an artist and theorist who lives and works between London and Vienna. He studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with Peter Weibel and holds a PhD from the University of the Arts in London. His film works and installations have been exhibited worldwide, including projects such as the independent art TV channel TIV, an initiative he started in Vienna in 1998, and his collaboration on international projects with the London-based media art group D-Fuse (2000-2004). He is currently a member of the scientific staff of the Department of Visual Arts and Digital Media at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
