Ceramicist Martín Huamanchumo, based in Gijón, is developing the project “Equí faise cerámica: Alcuentros creativos” (Here ceramics are made: Creative encounters) at LABoral Centro de Arte, selected in the II Call for Artistic Residencies 2025. With this residency, he wants to open up his research to the city by creating a working group to accompany the development of the project.
On Saturday 25 October, from 11 am to 2 pm, the first open session will take place at LABoral to present the project, explain the working methodology and carry out a participatory activity.
We are looking for people interested in participatory and experiential work, sensitive to (eco)social issues, and willing to collectively try out new scenarios for citizen participation and creation. We want to build new, diverse and emancipatory spaces. To this end, we will use ceramics as a methodology and context – enhancing its materiality as an agent permeable to sociocultural dynamics – in which to experience the sociabilities and sensibilities to come.

Objectives:
- Creation of a working group to develop activities based on the research carried out in the context of the artistic project EQUÍ FAISE CERÁMICA: ALCUENTROS CREATIVOS.
- Facilitate a collective, participatory and experimental space where diverse voices can come together.
- Generate a meeting space where participation and collective construction around the divergent ceramic process can be promoted – where experimentation, alignment with collective issues and participatory listening are prioritised – as a methodology and context.
