Filmed as if it were a television documentary about painting, the camera pans a painting from top to bottom and from right to left, stopping at every detail, while a voice-over reveals its symbolism. The limits of the image become here the very confines of the territory, the squaring of the map.

A closed space: the wall that separates Palestine from Israel. A trompe l’oeil that supposedly isolates violence from peace in the name of security, the first world versus necessity. Or a sculpture in the middle of nature, in this case desert, like the emblematic pieces of American land-art of the 1970s, but erected on fear.
