During its residency, the French creator Thibault Jehanne will walk through Gijon with his camera relating with the town in order to create an audiovisual piece. Winner of the prize Universo vídeo 2014, awarded by LABoral and Gijon Film Festival, in the framework of FICXLAB.
In its peculiar concept of landscape that goes beyond a mere passive contemplation, it is set up as an entity with which one can interact. His work reflects his interest in the vision that we might have of a space before physically exploring it. The picture that we get when it is only constructed based on photos and stories. And, of course, its gradual discovery (its scale, smell, voices…). Therefore, his proposal will focus on how the town of Gijon may be seen through this filter, following those things that call his attention.
His new work produced in Gijon will be premiered at Gijon Film Festival 2016 and will become part of the archive of the Festival that is kept at LABoral Centro de Arte for promotional, educational and research purposes.
