As an addition to the Intact. Teleshared Actions. Connection and Cognition workshop which took place last weekend at LABoral, this Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2nd, the Art Centre’s Plat0 will be the scene for a continuous telepresence connection with SAT-Society for Arts and Technologies in Canada, as part of the open door days being held at the centre. SAT, created in 1996 in Montreal, Canada, is an interdisciplinary place for research, creation, production and training, which is focused on the conservation of digital culture.

Scheduled for the afternoon, between 4 pm and 8 pm, any of the public visiting LABoral will be able to take part in these remote link-ups and learn the basics about teleshared actions: a procedure in collaborative creation in real time where the works are produced remotely between two or more people sharing –via the Internet- all kinds of archives and audiovisual information by means of software and hardware which collect and bring together various artistic manifestations in real time, using systems such as telepresence.

The above-mentioned workshop featured the participation of Asturian and international artists, under the guidance of the INTACT team, formed by Manuel Terán, Ernesto García, Alexandre Berthier, María Domínguez Alba, Vicente Pastor and Sara Malinarich. During its course, creations in real time were produced with the interaction of artists located in Valencia and Barcelona -in particular from the Hangar production centre- and in the creative process, work was carried out on lighting concepts, camera use, video, sound, visual arts, action contents, interfaces and documentation for distance communication.

The connection with Canada taking place this weekend will enable interaction in real time with the people present at LABoral by using telepresence systems and other types of software. It will generate an interactive work by the artists from  INTACT -Sara Malinarich, Manuel Terán and Alexandre Berthier- with the collaboration of Asturian artists attending the workshop, including the musical duo Las Casicasiotone and theatre lighting expert Pilar Velascos, among others.
