LABoral offers two new robotics workshops aimed at children aged from 10 to 14 years ol
Lasting 12 hours, they will take place on alternate Sundays in February and March
Educational robotics is a tool which allows children from a young age to build their own, leading them towards scientific knowledge. It facilitates their learning in a practical, simple and stimulating way, turning them into creators and researchers and not solely consumers of knowledge. The logic of computer programming and debugging allows children to develop intellectual resources that will prove very useful in the future.
As part of its educational programme, LABoral has organised two new workshops on robotics intended for children between the ages of 10 and 14. Until recently, robotics was a field reserved for industry technicians and engineers. Now, children can also venture into this world though the use of teaching materials and simple plain language.
Run by Educated, two versions are offered: the first one is an introduction workshop and the second is focused on participants who have previous knowledge of robotics or have attended workshops before. During the 12 hours, divided into three-hour sessions that will take place every other Sunday throughout February and March, participants in the Robotix, Introduction to Robotics workshop and Robotix, Children’s Robotics workshop. Intermediate level will learn or continue investigating ways to design, build, programme and launch LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Education robots.
LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT kits are the first robots created for kids and young people so that they can learn while they’re having fun. They enable users to work with both academic content (science, technology, mathematics, computing, language) and also with the students’ skills and competencies (initiative, creativity, teamwork, communication) in a highly stimulating way for children whose ages range from 9 to 17 years old.
Robotix, Children’s Robotics workshop. Intermediate level
This workshop is intended for children who have already attended a robotics workshop with LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT so that they can continue investigating the potential of robots which they themselves programme and build.
