LABoral organises an introductory workshop on robotics for children aged 10 to 14 years old
It will take place from 2nd to 4th January at the Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, Gijón
LABoral has organised an introductory workshop on robotics intended for children aged between 10 and 14 years old for this coming 2nd, 3rd and 4th January, with sessions from 10 am to 2 pm. During this 12-hour workshop, participants in “ROBOTIX, Introduction to Robotics” will learn how to design, build, programme and set in motion LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Education robots.
Until recently, robotics was a field reserved for industry technicians and engineers. Now, children can also venture into this world through the use of teaching materials and simple plain language.
Robotics as an educational element is additionally a tool that allows children to learn in a more practical, simple and stimulating way, making the child feel like a creator and researcher and not solely a consumer of knowledge. The logic of computer programming and debugging fosters the development of intellectual resources that will prove very useful in the future and in the real world.
ROBOTIX boosts these skills and competences using robotics, encouraging talent, communication, entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity for discovering and learning among the participants.
