Rosina Gómez-Baeza to present the Laboral project at Post-Flux 2009
Experts from around the world will meet this weekend in Brussels to analyse the situation of media art and current creative practices.
The Director of LABoral, Rosina Gómez-Baeza, will present the project and the activities of Gijón's Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial at Post-Flux 2009, a gathering to be held in Brussels starting today, Friday, November 6, until Sunday, November 8. Experts from all around the world will attend conferences, panel discussions, workshops and debates, analysing the situation of media art and current creative practices. The meeting has been organised by La Maison des Auteurs from Brussels, with the support of La Commission des Arts Numériques, The Ministry of Culture of the Belgian Frennch Community, La Sociedad Civil de Autores Multimedia (SCAM) and La Sociedad de Autores y Compositores Dramáticos (SACD).
Over the three days, more than 30 speakers will attempt to disentangle the complex aspects of digital art and current creative practices, looking at it from different points of view, such as how the new communication media is used to transmit creative energy, the ubiquity of digital technology, intellectual property rights, new artistic languages and the expectations that, in general, are awoken by the artistic use of new media.
In addition to Rosina Gómez-Baeza, other participants in the panel entitled "¿Ha generado el arte digital nuevos lenguajes creativos?" ["Has digital art generated new creative languages?"], amongst the thirty international experts - curators, critics, theorists and art centre directors - at Post-Flux 2009, include: Andreas Broeckmann, Artistic director of ISEA 2010, Maja Kuzmanovic, founder of FOAM, Géraldine Gomez, from Le Centre Pompidou, Paris, Simona Maschi, from the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and Hans Ulrich Obrist, from the Serpentine Gallery, London.
