Next Wednesday, July 15, from 7 p.m., Elisa Cepedal and Ramón Lluis Bande will be presenting their last film, Llar, at LABoral. Following the screening of the film in the Chill-out lounge of the Art Centre, they will explain this work and answer questions from the public.

Two different and complementary views that reflect upon the concept of identity, one is a personal and intimate view, while the other one is a social and collective view. Elisa Cepedal and Ramón Lluís Bande are two opposite directors, with different experiences, generations and formal approaches and, however, somehow the images they associate with the Asturian term “Llar”, combine very well and complement each other. In this new film, they both bring from “the other side of the sea” a portrait of uprooting and loneliness, a requiem for the end of a society, of a way of understanding life, the passing of time and the relationship with nature.

Llar is the household as a space where a burning to warm up the house. But it also has a figurative and emotional sense. We talk about home when we lose it, when we see it from far away, when we feel a need to return to it, which is most times impossible in terms of time or space.
