Oscar Abril leaves the direction of activities of LABoral and the Board of Trustees of the Art Centre announces an international call to cover this position
The new artistic manager will be chosen following a public competition process
The Board of Trustees of Fundación La Laboral has decided to remove Oscar Abril Ascaso from his position as Director of Activities of the Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial de Gijón. This decision has been made based on the evident lack of mutual confidence that is needed to develop the project that the previous artistic manager presented to LABoral when he was selected for this position in February 2014.
The Board of Trustees, as the body governing the Art Centre, agreed in a meeting this Monday to announce an international call to cover the position of Director of Activities according to the Bylaws of LABoral and the Code of Good Practice for Museums and Contemporary Art Centres.
The new Director of Activities will be chosen by the Board of Trustees of LABoral following a public competition process based on the merits and capability of the candidates. A specific technical committee will be created for the selection process. It will be made up by three Trustees and four prestigious and renowned professionals in the field of activity of LABoral Centro de Arte. The board of trustees expects the process to be finished by the second quarter of this year.
LABoral needs a professional with a wide experience in the field of arts, internationally renowned and willing to continue developing a singular and avant-garde project, in line with its strategic plan.
