The Asturian Deputy Regional Minister for Culture and Sport, Vicente Domínguez, has chaired today the opening at Sala Borrón in Oviedo of the exhibition Circuitos de Artes Plásticas, 2015, a show of the Autonomous Region of Madrid, part of which will be shown at LABoral Centro de Arte, in Gijón.

Vicente Domínguez has explained that the arrival of this show in Asturias is part of the exhibition exchange programme between the Autonomous Region of Madrid, the Principality of Asturias and Fundación Laboral Centro de Arte, that is aimed at making visible and bringing closer to the public the new values of contemporary  creation. It is worth mentioning that since last September, Madrid's Sala de Arte Joven hosts the Plastic Arts Show of the Principality of Asturias and the award Premio LABjoven_Los Bragales 2015.

The deputy regional minister for culture attended the opening of the event with the Director of the Asturian Institute for the Youth, Almudena Cueto, The Deputy Director of Fine Arts in the Autonomous Region of Madrid, Antonio Sánchez Luengo, The Director of Activities of LABoral Centro de Arte, Karin Ohlenschläger, the curator of the exhibition, Yara Sonseca, and five of the artists selected

Circuitos de Artes Plásticas, 2015 results from the 26th Call Circuitos for the promotion of young art that offers an opportunity to access the artistic practices that are currently being developed in Madrid. Thanks to the exchange programme between the Principality of Asturias and the Autonomous Region of Madrid, the ten projects selected for Circuitos 2015 will be simultaneously presented at LABoral Centro de Arte and Sala Borrón.

With this initiative, the Government of Asturias aims to foster the interaction with other autonomous regions to exchange exhibitions of young artists and support emerging art initiatives, in addition to fostering exchange and communication in the creative arena in Spain and inviting artists to further develop their projects by accepting to adapt them to new venues such as LABoral Centro de Arte and Sala Borrón.

These two Asturian venues will be showcasing a selection of process works related with the works that were shown at Sala de Arte Joven in November, by the artists selected for the 26th edition of Circuitos 2015: Ana de Fontecha, Daniel Cerrejón, Nadia Hotait, Julián Cruz, Luis Vassallo, Roberto Guillén, Carlos Ramírez Pantanella, Raúl Hidalgo, Miguel Ángel Rego and the collective SomosNosotros, made up by Alfonso Manuel Fernández and Begoña García

These two shows complement each other and double the development potential available to the artists, in order to offer a very complete overview of the diverse current artistic practices. The projects presented at LABoral Centro de Arte and Borrón travel from the local to the global, due both to the current accessibility to information and to the international training of the artists selected and the topics covered that are particular and universal at the same time.

Furthermore, following the agreement between the Autonomous Region of Madrid, the Principality of Asturias and Fundación Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, an artist from the Region of Madrid, selected in the 2016 call, will be granted a one-year residence to work in the workshops of Fundación Laboral. This establishes a dialogue and a communication between the young creators of two autonomous regions that foster and promote emerging creation through its cultural policies.

These two shows can be visited in LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón and in Sala Borrón in Oviedo until November 25, 2016.
