LABoral will inaugurated next Wednesday (Ready Media).Towards an archaeology of media and invention in Mexico, an exhibition focussed on the artistic practice related with media and technology, and on the aesthetic-political questions that this practice has triggered in Mexico since the beginning of the XXth century.

The show offers a critical interpretation of the visual archives gathered over the ten years of existence of the Laboratorio Arte Alameda de México D.F, a space devoted to the exhibition, documentation and research of the practices that make use of the relationship between art and technology in Mexico City.

Curated by the contemporary artist and curator Gustavo Romano, the outcome is this audiovisual series of more than 23 hours, made up by around 200 pieces created by seminal Mexican practitioners in this field, in seven sections: Experimental Music, Art, Poetry and Sound Experimentation in Mexico, The Memorable Familiar, Overflow. Mechanicity and Obsolescence in Art and Technology Today, Cine povera, Notes on a Review of Video Curatorships, Contemporary Experimental Audiovisual in Mexico and Voice Over, I
