Eco-Workshop by Gaia and Sophia proposes an immersion into the landscape
The activity is open to the public and will be held on Saturday 3rd from 10.30 am to 2 pm
This Saturday, December 3rd, as part of the ecoLAB activities, the Centre of Art and Industrial Creation will host Eco-Workshop by Gaia and Sophia, an activity which is part of the Vivir experiencias [Living Experiences] project in the ecoLAB exhibition being shown at the Centre of Art’s Almacén Sur [South Warehouse] until 5th December. In this display the results of the work carried out by ecoLAB -a place for experimentation in the intersections of ecology, art and open electronics- are presented. Structured as a multidisciplinary space and open to the user, the working group formed around this project has been implementing different initiatives since last January with the aim of acting as a meeting point for research and participation.
The Eco-Workshop by Gaia and Sophia is open to the public, and from half past ten to two o’clock in the afternoon it embarks on an immersion into the landscape, the subjective perception of this by the individuals, and the creation of a collective landscape linked to the experience of the environment. It is intended as a reciprocal act of reading and writing on the landscape, which is considered as a book to be read and interpreted. As a result, the experiences perceived by the individuals will be expressed through a collective poetical act.
Collectively, the participants will create a map of perceptions and experiences following their immersion in the environment -the no-garden at the Art Centre’s Patio Sur [South Yard]- by means of short stories of experienced moments; drawing a collective psyche in constant communication with the landscape, the latter being formed by ecoLAB’s experimental space and the artistic intervention of the artist Babubai.
