Tomorrow, Friday, LABoral will receive the Award for the Best Non-profit Marketing Initiative for the communication campaign it has carried out on the occasion of its Fifth Anniversary. The presentation will take place during the Asturias Marketing Awards gala to be held tomorrow, Friday, at the Art Centre in Gijón, from 12 noon onwards. Also, the awards for the other eight categories will be presented: Professional of the Year in Marketing, Best Communication Campaign, Excellence in Marketing; Non Conventional Marketing Initiative, Initiative in International Marketing, Commercial Research, Distinguished Marketing Student and Public Marketing Initiative.

On 30 March 2012 LABoral celebrated its fifth anniversary. In its first five years of existence, the Centro de Arte y Creación industrial in Gijón has established itself as a leading innovative space in art and culture arising from the new technologies and industrial creation, and has played a very active role in raising the visibility of Gijón and Asturias. LABoral has considered this date as a turning point for developing a communication plan which enhances its initial objectives and contributes to developing closer ties with its local and regional audiences in order to spread its activities and its most immediate projects and plans.

Resulting from a series of joint actions, the Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial set up a core group of alliances and collaborations with the media, companies and institutions which led to a contribution, via sponsors, that amounted to 91.3% of the total investment cost of the investments made.

In addition, and partly as a consequence of the Open Door days which took place between 2 March and 9 April 2012, 30,585 people visited LABoral or participated in its activities during the first quarter of the year. This represented an increase of 94.41% with respect to the same period in 2011.

The Asturias Marketing awards are organised by the Club de Marketing de Asturias [Asturias Marketing Club] with the collaboration of Federación Española de Marketing [the Spanish Marketing Federation], Gijón City Council, FADE [Asturian Federation of Employers], the Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK), Spanish Association of Market and Opinion (AEDEMO), the Club Asturiano de la Calidad [Asturian Quality Club], and the University of Oviedo.

Making the most of this presentation, the IX National Marketing Meeting, workshops and lectures will also be held throughout the day, which will include the Pricing Forum Spain at 5.15 pm and close with a roundtable on “Social Networks Marketing 2.0” at 6.30 pm.
