LABoral sets in motion an Agenda of Contemporary Art in Asturias
Its first edition will include information on the activities and proposals from 27 galleries and cultural institutions in the region
The first number of the Agenda of Contemporary Art in Asturias
From 1st March, LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial´s Agenda of Contemporary Art in Asturias gets underway, providing information on all exhibitions and activities of the most contemporary artistic creation taking place in Asturias. The Agenda will be published monthly and sent in electronic bulletin format to a wide number of people who have already subscribed to the LABoral mailing list, as well as to all those interested in the subject who may request it on the LABoral website at the URL http://www.laboralcentrodearte.org/es
The Agenda’s first issue will include information on the exhibitions and activities that over the course of May will take place in 27 galleries, institutions and cultural spaces in the principality of Asturias. Images of the activities and artworks being exhibited, dates and opening hours, descriptions of the contents of the works on exhibit or programmed workshops, the address where the institution or gallery is located and a link to its web page, blog or publication providing further information will all form part of its contents.
Through this initiative, LABoral takes a step towards achieving two of the goals set out in its Strategic Plan: to contribute to the spreading of information on the state of current creation and to establish new audiences for art and industrial creation.
For the development of the Agenda of Contemporary Art in Asturias, LABoral has undertaken previous work based on the identification of cultural spaces involved in the arts sector, leading to very close contact in order to gather the most up-to-date information. In this way, the Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón is expanding this line of network communication and collaboration with all the people and organisations linked to the creative world.
