Still 'El mundo sigue'

LABoral Centro de Arte, la Fundación Municipal de Cultura and Gijon Film Festival open the film series El sí de cada no, a programme included in the FICXLAB section and addresses the change in structures, narratives and ways of doing in recent Spanish film making. The film series has been designed by Márgenes, a film festival devoted to the new audiovisual trends in Spain, Latin America and Portugal and all sessions will take place at Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto from Thursday, October 29.

El sí de cada no extends the activities of FICXLAB beyond the scope of Gijon Film Festival and is developed along two lines. On the one hand, it presents recent films that are hard to find in commercial cinemas due to its scarce distribution; On the other hand, it brings back works of our recent past, films that were essential and that, even though they went unnoticed in their time or could not be shown for they were censored, they still have the same capability to reflect the period they resulted from while at the same time reflecting our time. Thus, El sí de cada no is shown following two main topics: Censorship itself and this kind of memory that, because it is inconvenient, it is pushed to the margins of public life.

All sessions of El sí de cada no will take place at the Projection Hall of  Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto.
