Six new international calls

The ENCAC call is aimed at supporting creative and innovative art and research projects working with sound, visuals, music, stage arts and digital culture.

Residencies are an opportunity for artists to research, design, produce and present new art works, new tools, methods, formats and perspectives for audiovisual creation. Resident artists will be provided with technical and artistic guidance during the research and production phases. A candidate may apply to several residencies.

Two of the six residencies called by ENCAC will take place at LABoral.

The first one is aimed at research and production in contemporary art. It is about producing an installation that includes the building of interfaces or interactive instruments. Sound processing and sound creation as well as the handling and interaction with audiovisual media and 3D environments are key aspects for the development of this residency.

This two-week residency is funded with 3.520 Euros to cover artist fees, production expenses, as well as travel and accommodation.

The second call is aimed at producing an audiovisual piece that combines light, video and sound. This one-month residency that will take place in April 2017 is funded with 4.520 Euros, to cover artist fees, production expenses, as well as travel and accommodation.

The final results will be presented at LEV festival 2017 that will take place between April and May 2017. Therefore, those proposals with a visual aspect that enriches the Festival will be highly appreciated.

In addition, there are four more grants: A residency for research and creating an art work that combines sound and electronic art, during two weeks in February 2017 at Avatar (Quebec, Canada); Residency for the research on the creation and/or prototyping of experimental music instruments in May 2017 at Le Lieu Unique (Nantes, France); Research residency to create and present new tools, methods, formats and perspectives for audiovisual creation and performance, during two weeks in November 2016 at DISK Berlin (CTM Festival, Berlin);  And last a research and production residency on performance arts and digital arts – contemporary multimedia dance, audiovisual electronic operas, light, video and sound performances, artificial intelligence-run performances, etc.-, during two weeks in December 2016 at hTh-CDN (Montpellier, France).
