This Friday starts the cycle ‘Oberhausen On Tour’

Oberhausen on Tour presents their programmes in 54 headquarters in 24 countries.

Tomorrow Friday, the 13, with a session that takes place at de Arte y Creación Industrial de Gijón, from seven p.m., it will start the cycle of projections Oberhausen on tour.

Oberhausen has been part catalyser during more than 50 years and, at the same time, showcase of the contemporary short films developments, as well as a discussion forum open to new tendencies and talents. From Roman Polanski to Cate Shortland, from George Lucas to Pipilotti Rist, in a period of time of more than five decades, it has become in one of the most respected cinematographic events and it which important figures have presented their first films.

LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial has incorporated to the world tour sponsored by Oberhausen Festival that this year for ninth time, presents their programmes in 54 headquarters in 24 countries. In collaboration with Goethe-Institute Madrid and Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón, Centro de Arte presents  in Gijón two programmes, one dedicated to international pieces and another, to German pieces; from all the short films that entering in competition in these sessions during the 2014 edition of the Festival. The session dedicated to the German cinema will take place the Thursday March the 26th, in Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto.

Furthermore and within the framework of FICXLAB, a section of the Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón organized by LABoral aimed at introducing video-art and experimental film cut within a film festival like Gijon on Saturday, 14 of March, another audiovisual session will be held to present the winning films of the filMO Award 2014.

Julius Richard and Mercedes Menendez have been the winners of the awards of the Jury and Audience respectively, in the 2014edition. filMO is a held pocket film festival realize by using mobile devices such as phones or cameras, conceived and promoted since its first edition by LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial. Its purpose is to foster creativity and critical thinking of young artists in a constructed and understood society from the centrality of digital image.

In this session organized by LABoral in collaboration with the Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón and the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto, will be screened Frygt ob Baeven, by Julius Richard Award of the Jury, and No storyboard film, Mercedes Menendez Award of the Audience. The session will close with Tríptico del amor supremo, by Julius Richard.
