LABoral will celebrate on May 9 and 10 a new edition of its Design Market with the participation of over sixty that will show and sell their creations between noon and 10 p.m.

In addition, on this occasion, three design workshops for children Kids & Crafts will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday. In this educational project for playing with art, participants will discover and practice, by means of ingenious techniques, the style of the most relevant artists in the history of art. On Sunday, from six to half past seven p.m., Sombras en alta fidelidad will take place, a projection of the animation film The adventures of Prince Achmed, with live music by Xelar.

Since December 2008, the LABshop gather three times a year many creators, designers and independent publishers. The aim is showcasing the activities related with design and creation being developed in our region.

LABshop is not only a great showcase or a design flea market, is a stage open for creativity that connects all participants to foster their union and strengthen the relationship with the mass media, the trend-setters and the creative industry.

This concept is represented by the brand Hand Made With Love, that can be used by all participants in their products and that summarises the philosophy of the LABshop in three concepts: Original design, self-production and products made with love. Hand Made With Love is a quality hallmark that identifies the designs presented at LABshop and guarantees that each product is an original piece, made by the creator and filled with love.

LABoral will be selling in this design market publications and objects that the Art Centre usually markets in its shop. Together with merchandising items, there will be author objects design specifically for LABoral, as well as the catalogues of the exhibitions of the Centre.

Sombras en alta fidelidad
The adventures of Prince Achmed with music by Xelas (65')
History has misinterpreted the relationship between image and sound. Cinema was never silent. From the beginning, moving images were accompanied by orchestras or pianos that would provide sounds to the appearances of actors and scenarios on the screen. Sombras en alta fidelidad recovers this first experience using live music combined, in this case, with The adventures of Prince Achmed, by Lotte Reininger, a 1926 German film, considered one of the oldest animation films that exist. The screening will be accompanied by live music performed by Xelar.
Xelar is a project founded in 2010 when they self-edited digitally its first work under the title Un. In 2011 it releases Mayu. In both cases Xelar develops ambient and minimalist lines inspired by Asturian landscapes. In December 2011 it presents Trabayos en progresu, a compilation of its latest demos. It currently takes part in an artistic residency at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial.
