The Management of LABoral hands over its activity reports to the Board of Patrons
The Management of LABoral has provided the members of the Board of Patrons guiding the destiny of the Centre of Art and Industrial Creation with the documentation which compiles the activity and standards and procedures applied in the running of the Centre during its four years of existence.
In closing a stage before the meeting taking place this Monday 5th September, the patrons will be provided with the following documentation:
Activity Report, summarising the programming carried out at the Centre since its opening in March 2007.
Communication Report, compiling information on the impact that this activity has had in the Asturian, national and international media.
Building Report, with the technical characteristics of the space, installations, adaptation to present usage, and the measures taken for its maintenance and improvement.
Contracting Report, which includes the 173 agreements signed with individuals and entities for educational cooperation, collaboration and cession of works, along with the 744 contracts signed by curators, artists, providers and Asturian, national and international organisations and businesses for the development of exhibitions and activities at LABoral.
Financial Report, which includes a cash balance and other financial liquid assets above three million euros, as well as an inventory of assets valued at more than one million euros*. LABoral was the first cultural institution in Spain to receive subsidies from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce with the award of three Avanza Plan grants for the development of the Information Society.
The Board of Patrons approved a budget that amounts to 2,395,000 euros for the year 2011. 48% of this comes from the contribution by the Government of the Principality of Asturias (1,150,000 euros), and the rest from businesses and institutions that form part of the Board of Patrons, in addition to sponsorships and grants for specific activities.
Similarly, the manuals on internal procedures, regulations and standards and operations protocols have been presented, which all served as the basis for the work at the Art Centre in the areas of Exhibitions, Mediateca_Archivo [the Media Libraries], Communication, the Public_Mediation Programme, Plataforma Cero and the administrative accounting and general services areas.
The current founding Director of the Centre, Rosina Gómez-Baeza, has expressed her deep gratitude to the Board of Patrons for the confidence that has been vested in the Centre, with a special mention to her team for its enthusiastic delivery and expertise, and to the national and international media with express recognition of the regional press for having spread information on the Centre’s activities and, in this manner, contribute to the creation of new audiences for art and culture in our times.
